I use a mix of hypnosis, NLP, AMDR, Somatic work & coaching when working with anxiety. Why? Well, anxiety is a complex and universal human experience that manifests in various ways. While it’s a common emotion, the way we experience anxiety is deeply personal and unique.
This webpage aims to delve into what anxiety is, explore the underlying mechanisms that trigger it. My aim is also to explain the benefits of personalised anxiety therapy using a mix of hypnotherapy, Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), and coaching.
Anxiety is a natural response to perceived threats or stressors. It’s the body’s way of alerting us to potential danger, preparing us for fight-or-flight responses.
However, when anxiety becomes excessive and disrupts daily life, it can be categorized as an anxiety disorder. It can restrict life and can be debilitating when the way we cope means we are not flourishing – at times it can mean we are just existing
No two individuals experience anxiety in exactly the same way. Our life experiences, genetics, upbringing, and personal perceptions contribute to the distinct ways anxiety manifests within us. What triggers anxiety for one person might not have the same effect on another.
Embracing our individuality in experiencing anxiety is the first step towards understanding and managing it effectively.
A significant aspect of anxiety lies in the workings of our unconscious mind. Our mind is wired to scan for potential threats and anticipate the future. This vigilance, while crucial for survival, can lead to heightened anxiety when left unchecked.
Overthinking about the future, catastrophic thoughts, and excessive worry are often rooted in the unconscious mind’s attempt to protect us from harm.
When we are under threat our nervous system becomes activated and we can go in to fight / flight / freeze / fawn mode.
Sound familiar? It doesn’t have to be this way.
Anxiety doesn’t just live in the mind; it’s felt throughout the body. Many people experience anxiety as constant physical tension, restlessness, or even a sense of disconnection from their own bodies.
This is where somatic work comes in—it helps us to gently reconnect with the body in a safe way, recognizing and releasing stored emotions and tension. By addressing the body’s response to anxiety, we’re often able to reach the root of the issue, offering a more comprehensive and lasting relief.
In our sessions, we prioritize your comfort and readiness, allowing us to build a foundation of safety before exploring deeper layers. This approach is integrated with hypnotherapy, AMDR, and coaching techniques to support you. Learning ways to self regulate your nervous system to empower you and providing you with tools tools for calm and resilience.
The journey towards an anxiety-free future is not about eradicating anxiety altogether. Instead, it’s about building a healthy relationship with anxiety, understanding its triggers, and developing effective coping mechanisms.
It’s an understanding that your system has done an amazing job up until now in protecting you. Protection doesn’t equal flourishing.
By using a mix of hypnotherapy, NLP & coaching we can help change patterns of protection that are going into overdrive. Empower you to connect with the messages your body is giving you, so you are back in control.
Life is full of uncertainties and at times the best experiences are those that aren’t planned. How different would your life be, if you could embrace this uncertainty?
Us humans possess an incredible capacity for self protection and it is through this innate resourcefulness that we navigate the depths of anxiety. By delving into the root causes, rather than merely treating the surface-level symptoms, we pave the way for genuine and lasting transformation. Using a mix of hypnosis, NLP, AMDR working with the body & coaching to help release what is holding you back
Anxiety often results from deep rooted thoughts, beliefs or memories which are stored in the unconscious. In a safe environment and at your pace we explore and address the underlying causes of your anxiety.
NLP helps us explore the connection between language, thought patterns and behaviours. Through techniques you can reframe your perception of what was once thought of as a trigger.
Coaching provides guidance and support in setting and achieving goals. A coach can assist individuals in identifying their triggers, devising coping strategies, and maintaining a balanced perspective on potential stressors. By cultivating a sense of agency, coaching empowers individuals to navigate life’s challenges with confidence.
